See you at the R in Insurance Conference in Amsterdam

We're delighted to attend and support R in Insurance this year: a leading international conference for researchers and practitioners of actuarial science and financial data analysis.

Applied AI is attending and supporting the R in Insurance Conference at the Amsterdam School of Economics on Monday 29th June 2015.

This year's conference follows two successful events at Cass Business School in London. We attended last year and enjoyed talking to the eclectic mix of academics, insurance industry representatives and data science practitioners so much that we decided to help sponsor the conference this year.

Our own chap Mick Cooney will be presenting a talk about using Monte Carlo methods to price mortality swaps using R.

As noted on the ASE events page, this one-day conference will focus on all sub-disciplines of actuarial science where professionals can use R, the lingua franca for statistical computation. Topics covered include risk management, reserving, pricing, loss modelling and the use of R in a production environment. The central theme is how one can use R as a primary tool for insurance risk management, analysis and modelling.
