Once again we're delighted to attend and support this year's R in Insurance; a leading international conference for practitioners of actuarial science and financial data science.
For the third year running, the team from Applied AI are attending the R in Insurance Conference, as it returns to the Cass Business School in London on Monday 11th July.
It's also the second year that we will be speaking at the event: with Mick Cooney presenting a full-length talk on using Probabilistic Graphical Models to Detect Underwriting Fraud, and Mick Crawford already volunteering to give a lightning talk on measuring the Great Recession through Bayesian Change-Point Detection of Policy Lapse Rates.
We've actually discussed the subjects of both talks before on this blog (PGMS for fraud here, and change-point detection here) and it will be interesting to expand upon them and discuss various aspects with everyone.
If you're one of our technically-inclined readers, you may want to register now on the Cass website. The attendees are a really engaging mix of academics, insurance industry representatives and data science practitioners, and there's great value in swapping ideas and learning from each other.
We'll report back here after the event, and perhaps we'll see you there!
